Defining the observer location, or accessing properties thereof.
Observers may be placed anywhere on Earth, around Earth or anywhere in the Solar system. Earth-based observers have a defining geodetic location, which may be a fixed site on the ground (such as an observatory), or an instantaneous airborne location (such as an airplane or balloon observatory) and ground velocity. Observers may also be placed at virtual locations, such as the geocenter, or the Solar-system barycenter.
